The helicopter was off the ground minutes after Los Angeles County firefighters received reports of a 2-year-old child nearly drowned at a community pool in Valencia.

“CPR was already in progress,” said Supervising Fire Dispatcher Martin Rangel. “They had to have gotten something in order to transport.”
First responders received the initial report of a drowned 2-year-old girl at the Northpark pool around 6:42 p.m., and arrived at the scene 5 minutes later, officials said. By 6:52 p.m. the helicopter arrived at West Creek Park.
Resuscitating the child, emergency responders airlifted the child at 7:08 p.m. to a regional medical center to receive treatment, arriving at 7:15 p.m. The status of the child is unknown at this time.
