“Through my professional and non-profit work, and my prior service with the city, I’ve proven that I can bring people together to get things done. I made it my priority to bring together city staff, residents, and businesses to achieve the best possible outcomes. In some cases that meant saying no—even when that answer wasn’t popular.

“The Santa Clarita Valley is projected to more than double its population within the next three decades. It’s time for fresh thinking, innovative solutions, increased collaboration, and greater transparency. The citizens of Santa Clarita want less politics and more progress. I ask voters to give me the opportunity to work with them to guide our city into the future.”

Throughout her 12 years as a planning commissioner, Trautman demonstrated keen leadership, collaboration, and research skills, resulting in balanced and informed recommendations to staff and to city council members. Her service led to improvements on a wide range of projects, from housing, public parks and trails, roadways, churches and other houses of worship, and business and shopping areas.

“We must keep pace with the growth of both the population and the business community. It is important to maintain a balance between Santa Clarita’s traditions, and moving the wheels of the City’s infrastructure forward. I look forward to working with council members to make our city a great place far into the future. It’s time to engage our residents, businesses, and agencies in more collaborative efforts. Because building a city together will sustain Santa Clarita in a turbulent world.”

Trautman’s priorities include reducing traffic congestion, increasing public safety resources, innovative and effective housing solutions for all income levels, establishing citizens commissions to increase community engagement and transparency, and a variety of measures for ensuring the City’s economic stability for many years to come.

  1. A breath of fresh air.

  2. I think Diane Trautman is correct. Time for some fresh thinking on the City Council. Getting rid of the career politicians and their cronies is a great start.
