“This is not being investigated as a bomb threat or a suspicious package,” said Lt. Doug Mohrhoff with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Just (as) an unknown substance.”

A white powdered substance was found on a table inside the library, according to Sheriff’s officials at the scene.

The substance was determined to be a nontoxic chemical cleaner, according to Vanessa Lozano, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman. Officials evacuated 12 people from the building as a precaution while investigating.
