Following the theme “Holiday Memories,” visitors had the opportunity to enjoy festive holiday decor throughout the homes, including a Santa’s workshop, snowball collection, “A Nightmare Before Christmas” themed bedroom, and “Nutcracker” themed room.Henry Mayo Foundation Hosts 34th Annual Holiday Home Tour

“We work on this for the entire year,” said Sue Smyth, one of the event’s coordinators. “We’ve shown homes all over the valley over the years.”

The featured homes are all more than 3,500 square feet to accommodate the crowds, and this year’s homes were located in Stevenson Ranch and Westridge.

The largest home of the tour, which belongs to the family of Mitch Farber and Marilyn Kastner, was decorated and designed by Patrick Tremblay of Tremblay House of Design. The home’s theme was “Elegant Traditions.”

Trevor and Kelly Pooley’s home was designed and decorated by Ruben Haynes of Ruben Haynes Design using the theme “A New Traditional Christmas.”

Proceeds from ticket sales typically benefit women’s services at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, and this year’s funds are set to go toward the building of a new patient tower where a new Women’s Unit will be located.

“We’ve been at this for 34 years and we have a group called the Henry Mayo Newhall Home Tour League,” Smyth said. “We’ve generated close to $800,000. We have paid for two rooms in the ER, we have a room in the NICU and our money always is dedicated to women’s services.”
