Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation announced Friday that the UniHealth Foundation awarded a $750,000 grant to support Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s Diabetes Education and Prevention Program.

Henry Mayo Hosts Blood Drive; Offering Incentives

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is inviting the community to give the gift of life by donating blood during its summer blood drive on Tuesday, June 2, according to hospital officials.

The blood drive is being held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Henry Mayo Center Education Center, Rooms 5 and 6 on the hospital’s campus at 23803 McBean Parkway, Valencia, according to a news release.

All donors will receive a coupon for a free #1 Meal at Wahoo’s Tacos; two Grammy Museum tickets; two tickets to the Laugh Factory Comedy Club; and a voucher for two LA Galaxy tickets (processing fee not included), according to a news release. Photo ID is required.

Every day, thousands of people rely on blood donors to help them maintain optimum health, according to a news release. Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital partners with the American Red Cross to host six blood drives each year on the hospital campus.

Blood collected at Henry Mayo is processed by the American Red Cross and dedicated to the hospital, according to a news release. That means that the blood is returned to the hospital for patient use.

In addition to on-campus blood drives, the American Red Cross hosts drives throughout the community with dozens of businesses, schools, and community organizations, according to a news release. The blood collected at these Hospital affiliate drives is also dedicated to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
