An intentional hit and run in Newhall involving two suspected gang members sent one man to the hospital Monday, said officials.

The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m, after paramedics were dispatched to Railroad Avenue near 15th Street for reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

“The hit and run was between two parties that knew each other,” said Lt. Chuck Becerra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “It is suspected they are both gang members.”

The injuries were not life-threatening, and the victim has since been released from the hospital, said Becerra.

The incident is under investigation, and there have been no arrests as of Monday afternoon.
