Those whose loved ones have recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s may not know where to turn for help or how to take care of their family member while continuing to work or run their own household, but free guidance and advice is only a phone call away, Rick Ferrante of Home Care Services said.Home Care Services Santa Clarita

“Just call us– there’s a lot we can help (with) even if we’re not providing service,” he said. “We work with the Alzheimer’s Association; we have all the information that we deal with and a lot of experience helping people, so give us a call and we can help get you through it.”

Gathering information and learning the necessary skills to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s can help make the situation a little less overwhelming for everyone, Ferrante continued, and that’s what the staff at Home Care Services is there to help with.

For those who need to take it a step further and find in-home care for their family member, Home Care Services also offers professional caregivers that can provide assistance anywhere from a few hours a day, a few days a week to around-the-clock care.

Ferrante is also asking the community to help end Alzheimer’s disease for good by participating in the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s, set for September 20 at Bridgeport Park in Valencia.

“Because we are working with the Alzheimer’s Association and dealing with this all the time and talking to people, it becomes something that’s kind of close to the heart for us and our staff,” Ferrante said. “So we’re teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Association and working on the committee for the walk… We need to bring on more people; we need to bring on more understanding of the disease as well as funding for research and curing.”

Home Care Services is currently putting together teams for the walk, and anyone interested in participating can call or email info@homecaresantaclarita.com for more information.
