Pet Me Happy Gifts and Treats, the newest co-sponsor of the KHTS Adoptable Pet of the Week, is taking its involvement in the series one step further by adopting a rescue dog to serve as the company’s canine mascot.

The new addition to the Pet Me Happy team — which offers all natural artisan dog treats and exclusive gifts designed with the pet parent in mind — will join feline mascot Batman as one of the faces of the company, and will also be a family pet for Co-Founders Stephen and Nadine Peeples.
“We would like to have a dog that would be, basically, a representative for us and accompany us to trade shows and various other places, and ‘speak’ to the dogs that come up and visit,” Stephen K. Peeples explained. “It’s part of the marketing process, but also part of the family, so we’re really excited about that.”

KHTS staff will document the Pet Me Happy team’s search and experience with the adoption process, which will be released as a special edition version of the KHTS Adoptable Pet of the Week video feature.
Peeples noted they are currently still in “search mode,” and plan to visit the Castaic Animal Care Center in addition to the variety of nonprofit animal rescues in Santa Clarita.
“We’re right at the beginning,” he said. “We’re not in a big hurry. We have very specific criteria that we’re looking for, because we are looking for the perfect pet, perfect companion and perfect spokesdog for Pet Me Happy Gifts and Treats.”
Stephen and Nadine Peeples and their third co-founder, Paige Hagen, officially launched Pet Me Happy around the same time as the KHTS Adoptable Pet of the Week series in August, so the timing couldn’t have been better for the company to become a sponsor and begin its search for a canine mascot.
“It was perfect for us because part of our mission is animal friendly — we want to do everything that we can to advocate adoption,” he said. “This gives us an opportunity to help do that, and by Pet Me Happy Gifts and Treats co-sponsoring the (KHTS) Adoptable Pet of the Week feature, we get to share the joy of pet adoption.”
