KHTS AM-1220 is happy to announce the recent appointment of a News Director and Features Director for the Santa Clarita Valley’s only hometown radio station.

Perry Smith, former KHTS News Director from October 2012 to June 2015, returns once again to take the helm at the newsroom of HometownStation.com. He will officially begin his position May 16.

“We’re very excited that Perry is rejoining the KHTS family,” said KHTS AM-1220 co-owner Jeri Seratti-Goldman. “Perry’s dedication to journalism, as well as his experience and insight at Santa Clarita Valley news coverage, are invaluable assets to our team.”

In addition, Melissa Lampert, who has been with KHTS since February 2014, is being promoted from Staff Writer to Features Director after serving as Interim News Director for the last month, Seratti-Goldman said.

Smith replaces Heather Harbin, who recently accepted a position in the ABC7 newsroom.

The Features Director position was created to oversee some of the station’s new projects in the coming months.
