Wrapping up their final day in Washington, D.C., the KHTS AM-1220 team and the Santa Clarita Valley delegation finished the day with discussions and plans of future programs for funding for Santa Clarita.

“We were able to go over and talk about a lot of possible programs for Santa Clarita,” said co-owner of Santa Clarita’s local radio station, KHTS AM-1220, Carl Goldman. “At the Department of Justice, we were able to discuss some programs with the William S. Hart Union High School District and the Action Foundation.”

Goldman went on to explain how the presence of the Action Foundation, the TIDE program and the SCV Sheriff’s J-Team can be expected to expand into Hart district schools.

Programs are also in development at College of the Canyons with the help of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, such as helping reformed prisoners rejoin the workforce. Veterans programs and other WorkSource programs were also discussed among the delegates.

KHTS meets with members of the Department of Justice

After having lunch with Congressman Steve Knight and his chief of staff, the KHTS team ended the day with a tour of the Capitol.

“Along with the scheduled conferences, we’ve had some additional meetings over these past three days,” said Goldman. “Overall, it was very productive.”
