The concert, scheduled for June 30 at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, will be the first major artist performance at the PAC, according to officials.

The summer show will feature the six-time Country Vocal Group of the Year, Diamond Rio, and their opening act and local music star Savannah Burrows, winner of the 2016 KHTS Country Music Showdown.

The concert is sponsored by KHTS Radio, 98.1 FM and AM 1220. Station Co-Owner Carl Goldman said he was “delighted” to bring the event to the Santa Clarita Valley.

“KHTS is excited to be involved with our first major artist performance,” Goldman said. “We are thrilled to have Diamond Rio share their string of hits and also have Savannah Burrows be a part of this.”

Before Diamond Rio performs their award-winning tunes, Burrows, a Santa Clarita native, is scheduled to play.

The concert will fulfill a lifelong dream, she said.

“We will perform original content that I have been writing from when I was eight years old,” Burrows said.

The event is particularly special to Burrows because she will be opening for a band that has been an inspiration to her as a musician and songwriter.

“I have opened for a wide variety of bands and genres, but being at home playing for a band that I really grew up listening too and knowing all their songs is the cool part,” she said. “I never thought I would be able to sing there, and be in front of that many people willing to listen to me and Diamond Rio.”

Santa Clarita country music fans can purchase tickets for the concert on the PAC website, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the SCV Disaster Coalition.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
