The town hall will be held at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, meant to discuss the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other issues of concern to residents of the 25th Congressional District.

“I am committed to listening to members of the community about their concerns, experiences and beliefs, which is why we are continuing to reach out through online surveys, telephone town halls, and in-person meetings,” said Knight. “This town hall meeting is another great opportunity to make your voice heard and have your questions answered.”

The town hall was initiated in response to protests at Knight’s district office and College of the Canyons about the Congressman’s vote to repeal the ACA.

After the demonstration at COC, Knight discussed everything from the ACA and Trump’s travel ban to global warming with a small group of protesters for about an hour.

This town hall is one of many across the country organized by members of Congress to discuss everything from the repeal of the ACA to President Trump’s travel ban.

The event will be open to all residents of California’s 25th Congressional District, and due to limited space the first 275 attendees will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, according to officials.

Knight’s staff will be checking attendees’ identification at the door to confirm that attendance is limited to the constituents that live in Congressman’s district.

The town hall will be held on Saturday, March 4 at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center in Palmdale from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

  1. Steve Knight is a joke. His constituents in AV, SCV, and Simi have all asked him to do a town hall and he chooses a small venue that holds only 275. He has no real interest in hearing from us.

  2. While he did FINALLY agree to have a town hall meeting (after numerous constituents called and visited his office demanding one), he set it for 8:30 AM on a Saturday, in Palmdale. He also limited the size to 275 with the meeting room he selected. The 275 number was then reduced by about 25 when he brought his own people in, leaving hundreds who drove from mikes away outside unable to get in. When directly asked to hold more town hall meetings, he did not commit to it. So, while the blurb above by KHTS AM-1220 seems to suggest that Rep. Knight is somehow magnanimous for holding a town hall and having it run over time, the truth is he is a coward that does not want to hear a large portion of his constituents’ concerns!
