L.A. County Assessor To Host Training Program

 Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang announced a regional effort to recruit applicants for the Appraiser Trainee/Real Property program.

The Appraiser Trainee program is a one-year program designed to prepare candidates for a career in property assessment with the Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor.

“In my office’s ongoing effort to provide excellent and efficient public service, we’re reaching out to the best and the brightest to serve the most diverse county in the United States,” said Assessor Jeffrey Prang. “Appraisers are on the front lines of our office and provide extremely critical services to their community.”

Interested candidates may apply beginning Monday, March 30 until Wednesday, April 1 by 5pm. There will be a link to apply at the above web address.

The training program teaches trainees the theory of appraisal and techniques of valuing real and personal property for assessment purposes. Part of the yearlong training program is devoted to classroom study; the balance of time is spent in the field, training under the direction of experienced appraisers.

After successful completion of the one-year training program, trainees will be eligible to advance to the position of Appraiser if certification requirements are met.
