The brush fire is now about 78 percent contained, with “mop-up” being performed to extinguish the remaining flames, said fire officials.

The Lake Fire, that reached a peak of 1,000 acres Saturday, is still under investigation, according to Los Angeles County Fire.

No evacuations are in place and no road closures are reported. The Castaic Lake Upper Lake East boat launch ramp is closed, but the West ramp remains open.

There have been 380 personnel, three water-dropping helicopters and six fixed-wing aircraft, deployed to battle the blaze, said officials.

The Lake Fire was sparked a little before 2 p.m. Saturday, near the shore of Castaic Lake. The brush fire quickly spread to the Angeles National Forest (ANF).

Two outbuildings were destroyed by the raging wildfire, there has been one minor laceration injury, and one firefighter transported and treated for dehydration, according to officials.

Firefighters have been battling the blaze, with no cover, facing temperatures of in excess of 110 degrees.

The Incident Information System (InciWeb), estimates the fire will be completely contained by Friday, June 23.
