Davies is leaving her current position effective at the end of the year, and is starting a brand new program, “Grandparents as Parents,” at the senior center.

“I felt it was the right time,” said Davies. “In this new role, I will have more contact with the community, and that is always the best part.”

Davies was formerly the executive director of the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley for seven years before the center merged with the Child and Family Center in January 2018.

“I’d like to thank the community for all the support that the Domestic Violence Center received,” said Davies. “Over the past seven years, together with the help of the community, we’ve lessened the stigma on domestic violence. The domestic violence program, under the umbrella of Child and Family Center, will continue to offer quality and caring services to domestic violence survivors.”

Under her leadership, the organization grew from a $375,000 budget to $975,000; expanded its services to include court advocacy, therapy, community outreach and education; and staffed a victims’ advocate at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, according to officials.

“Linda initiated the merger with Child and Family Center out of a desire to ensure that the critically important services provided by the Domestic Violence Center would be available and able to grow to meet the community needs for years to come,” said Dr. Joan Aschoff, CEO of Child and Family Center. “Linda is passionate and creative, and has done a tremendous job over the past year ensuring the smooth transition in merging our two agencies. All of us here at Child and Family Center will miss her, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
