Steven Matthew Bronson, 31, was last seen on June 27, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Bronson’s car, a gray 2003 Toyota Corolla, was found abandoned on the northbound 5 freeway near Cherry Canyon, just north of Castaic, three days later, officials said. Long Beach police declined to give additional information about the disappearance, citing an active investigation.

The car was found with several personal belongings inside, according to officials.

Once Bronson’s vehicle was located, the Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue team was deployed to search the surrounding area, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. The Sheriff’s Department was acting to assist the Long Beach Police Department, who are heading the missing person case.

The Search and Rescue team had no success in locating Bronson, who went missing less than a week before temperatures in the Santa Clarita Valley topped 115 degrees for several days.

Bronson is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing between 150 and 160 lbs. Bronson has blond hair and blue eyes. He has a handicap symbol tattoo under his right eye, and two neck tattoos: an eagle with a shield and a wolf.

Santa Clarita residents who may have seen the car, or Bronson, drive through the Santa Clarita Valley are encouraged to contact the Long Beach Police Missing Persons Detail at (562) 570-7246. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through L.A. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
