A man was rescued at Vasquez Rocks Park Sunday evening after nearly 20 Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.

Fire officials received a call about a single patient who was injured after a fall in Vasquez Rocks Park at 8:11 p.m. Sunday, prompting a full “cliff response,” including a helicopter and the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force. Palmdale Search and Rescue units also responded to the scene.
The first officials arrived at the park at 8:25 p.m., and firefighters reached the patient at 8:52 p.m., according to LACoFD officials. The patient estimated that he had originally fallen at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Fire officials did not have an estimate regarding how far the patient fell, but they were able to confirm that he was in stable condition when he was airlifted out of the area.
