The Third Annual McKeon Leadership Forum will be held at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, located on the college’s Valencia campus, at 6:30 p.m.

The keynote presentation by Cody is titled, “21st Century Geo-Political-Military Challenges and Leadership.”

“General Cody was a strong leader in the U.S. Army throughout his 36-plus years of active duty and remains as engaged today as he was while in uniform,” McKeon said in a news release. “He has great knowledge and expertise on the current world situation.”

The forum was established in 2015 to open a space to leaders in politics, government and military to engage the community in dialogue, the news release said.

“The Forum gives us an opportunity and an excellent platform to encourage civic (dialogue) and encourage community members to become involved with current issues,” COC Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook said in the news release.

The forum will also highlight the community’s economic industries, such as the aerospace sector.

“The Santa Clarita Valley is home to many companies in the aerospace and defense industry,” Holly Schroeder, president and CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation, said in the news release. “The McKeon Leadership Forum provides a unique opportunity for the leaders of these companies to hear about the latest issues directly from top military and defense leaders.”

Admission to the forum is free and open to the public, however interested guests will need to sign up. To RSVP, click here.
