Less than seven weeks after the “KHTS Adoptable Pet of the Week” video feature first launched in August, over half of the rescue pets featured in the series have officially been adopted.

Butter, a one-year-old terrier mix, was the first pet of the week to find her new home, while two cats, Lacey and Jackson, and a lab/collie mix named Crimson followed in her footsteps not long after.
“We are so excited for Butter, Lacey, Jackson and Crimson and their new families,” said Melissa Lampert, KHTS features director and creator of the series. “It’s a great feeling to know that we were able to play some small part in helping these amazing animals find their forever homes.”

Butter, who was featured as the Pet of the Week on Aug. 31, was adopted by a retired Valencia couple who fell in love after watching her video. While she’s still under the rescue’s care, her future family can’t wait to take her home when they return from vacation in early October.
The next adoption was a very special Siamese kitten named Lacey, who was still adjusting to life with only three legs at the Castaic Animal Care Center when she took the spotlight on Sept. 21.
When Lacey’s new mom and dad saw her video that Wednesday, they knew she was the kitty they had been looking for, and adopted her as soon as the shelter opened the very next day. Lacey, now named Abby, is enjoying her new home in Castaic with two feline siblings.
Third to go home was Crimson, a lab/collie mix from Shelter Hope Pet Shop Santa Clarita who was featured Sept. 14. Crimson found her new home on Sept. 25 with a family of five, including three children.
In a post on social media, Shelter Hope officials called Crimson’s adopters “her perfect forever family,” adding that they “couldn’t have asked for a better fit.”

The latest adoption is Jackson from Furever Purrs Rescue, who was adopted this past weekend after being highlighted on Aug. 24.
“Jackson’s adoption story, along with Crimson’s, is coming soon,” Lampert said, noting that she posts adoption announcements online, and also includes more detailed updates at the end of the Pet of the Week videos whenever possible.
“We are so grateful to the dedicated rescue staff and volunteers for everything they do for animals,” Lampert continued. “I’d also like to thank our sponsors, Cinema Vet and Pet Me Happy, for making this series possible. To see four out of seven of our Pets of the Week adopted in less than two months is truly amazing.”
KHTS Adoptable Pets of the Week still searching for their forever homes include Lucky, a doberman/lab mix from St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary; Barkley, a German shepherd/hound mix from New Leash on Life; and Sugar and Spice, a bonded pair of bunnies from Tails and Scales Animal Rescue.
