River Village Trailhead is located at Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road, which connects visitors to the 11-mile long Santa Clara River trail from Interstate 5 to Sand Canyon Road.

“The City is thrilled to be able to provide another trailhead in partnership with FivePoint and Castaic Lake Water Agency,” Mayor Cameron Smyth said. “Trailheads clearly mark out where a trail begins, and the easier we make it for residents and visitors to find our trails, the more encouraged they are to explore them.”

The new River Village Trailhead is a collaborative effort between the City of Santa Clarita, Castaic Lake Water Agency and FivePoint, or Newhall Land’s parent company.

The trailhead currently features a drinking fountain, bike rack, a bike fix-it station (created in partnership with the SCV Bicycle Coalition), four picnic tables, two benches and a water feature using river rocks from the nearby Santa Clara River, according to a news release.

Castaic Lake Water Agency will be constructing seven parking spaces, one accessible parking space and two electric vehicle charging stations, scheduled to be open to the public by spring of 2018. The trailhead parking shares its entrance with the newly opened Starbucks coffee shop, the news release said.
