“We’d like to have stakeholders, particularly parents, in the room because it’s an opportunity for direct communication,” said Newhall School District Superintendent Paul Cordeiro.
Attendees can learn how students are performing on state tests, changes to programs to support student success and the status of enrollment and its impact on the district budget, among other topics, organizers said.

During the event, attendees also will have an opportunity to meet the Newhall School District Governing Board members and offer feedback regarding the district’s efforts to ensure student success.
“We want to talk to parents of what we’re doing and what upcoming projects we’re working on,” said Cordeiro. “We’re doing great things here, we’re working strategically.”
To ensure attendance, district officials will also provide childcare and snacks, as well as a box dinner to adults who attend the meeting.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Old Orchard Elementary School multipurpose room located at 25141 Avenida Rondel.
