Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials initially received a report of a known burglary suspect near the intersection of Wayman and Lyons Avenues, officials said.

While deputies were setting up a containment of the area, it was reported the suspect allegedly was attempting to burglarize another location.

Deputies responded to the subsequent report on the 22800 block of 1th street and Chestnut Avenue.

After responding to the call and spotting the suspect running from the reported address, deputies began to pursue the suspect.

The suspect then climbed upon the roof of a residential building on 11th Street, refusing to come down.

By 7 p.m., deputies were able to safely get the 21-year-old suspect into custody, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.
