The largest class of nominees in the history of the Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year awards was
revealed Tuesday evening, March 3, during the 2015 Paparazzi Party held at the Sand Canyon estate home of Dianne and Wayne Crawford.
The 2014 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year, Bill Lively and Cheryl Gray, introduced each nominee and their sponsoring nonprofit organization during the event.
The large crowd attending the event gathered in the Crawford’s Great Room to hear each nominee introduced by an official of their nominating organization with a two-minute speech about the nominee’s accomplishments.

The purpose of the Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year Recognition is to honor men and women who
have given outstanding volunteer service to the Santa Clarita Valley.
Winners are selected by members of the Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year Committee which is comprised of previous winners.
Individual volunteer services must be given to a group or organization that is a designated 501(c)(3), community service organization. Volunteer service includes, but is not limited to, the years of volunteer service, the type of service, and the impact of the service that was provided to multiple local organizations.
Cheryl Grey, 2014 Santa Clarita Valley Woman of the Year, said choosing the winners would be extremely difficult this year.
“This is a great group of ladies and men,” she said. “It is going to be a challenge to vote.”
Bill Lively, 2014 Santa Clarita Valley Man of the Year, said the work of nonprofits in the SCV is dependent on volunteers.
“This is a remarkable group of people,” he said.
The 49th annual Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year dinner, will be held 6 p.m. Friday, May 1 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia.
