Planned Parenthood supporters walked from the Santa Clarita Skate Park to the Santa Clarita district office of Congressman Steve Knight, R-Palmdale, in pink, marching to “celebrate” the recent delay on a health care vote that could have defunded the organization.

“Activists here have been organizing and raising their voices… and really making it clear to Steve Knight that healthcare access is important, and especially women’s healthcare access.” said Dinah Stephens, senior director of public affairs for Planned Parenthood in Los Angeles County.
Knight was not immediately available for comment Saturday.
“We didn’t know what the fate of the bill was going to be when (the protest) got planned,” said Stephens, referring to the no-vote on the American Healthcare Act proposal to defund Planned Parenthood. “So, really, today is a celebration of that victory and a reminder to Congressmember Knight that we’re here and we expect him to stand up for women’s health.”
Sad that people march for the killing of innocent babies
It’s disgusting that these people dress up the killing unborn children, often late term, as “women’s healthcare.” Our tax dollars should not be supporting any organization which is so morally corrupt. If someone wants to kill their child they should not be able to turn to the American taxpayers for help.
Sad that people are so shortsighted. Planned Parenthood is hardly morally corrupt. Morally corrupt people want to force women to carry to term and birth babies with severe birth defects, babies that die in utero, pregnancies resulting from rape and incest. Planned Parenthood provides pre-natal care, birth control, STD and AIDS testing. PROSTATE cancer screening, mammograms, etc. for low income people. What humane services do we have to care for the severely disabled or the unwanted babies resulting from rape and incest? Elaine and Chris, are you willing to care for these children? Or are you going to turn your head once they are born to be put through the horrors of foster care and adoptions to often abusive parents. Where is your compassion for the 3% of abortions compared to all the services provided by Planned Parenthood? Nobody wants to “kill their child”. Opting for abortion in abnormal pregnancies is a heart-breaking choice for the parents. Where is your compassion for the devastating news that the child you are carrying will not survive. As a so called “American taxpayer”, I object to many things my taxes go to, yet none of us can cherry pick where we want our tax dollars spent. Your small brains can’t comprehend what the loss of Planned Parenthood will do to the less privileged. And I know you will not be there to take care of multitudes of unwanted babies, which by the way costs way more in taxes for the life of that child than the 3% you are “morally” opposed to.
