The Becker’s list recognizes hospitals, health systems and health care companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement and professional growth.
Holy Cross was one of just three California hospitals to be recognized.
With nearly 2,400 employees and more than 700 physicians on staff, Providence Holy Cross was recognized for workplace excellence, as well as for the benefits offered, wellness initiatives and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community among employees, according to officials.

“There’s an incredible spirit of teamwork and collaboration at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center,” said Bernard Klein, M.D., the hospital’s chief executive. “Our physicians, employees and volunteers, all of whom we call ‘caregivers,’ are dedicated to providing highly reliable compassionate, quality care.
Holy Cross was recently recognized by a national organization as one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation for quality care and Nurse.org also recognized Providence Holy Cross Medical Center last year as one of the best hospitals for nurses to work for in California, according to hospital officials.
Providence Holy Cross has maintained the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Magnet hospital for more than a decade, rating the hospital’s nursing staff among the top 6 percent in the nation for nursing excellence, according to officials.
Also included on the list is the Mission Hills hospital’s parent organization, Providence St. Joseph Health, headquartered in Renton, Wash.
