Starting on Tuesday, Caltrans will be implementing multiple road closures in and around the Santa Clarita Valley.

From Tuesday May 26 to Friday, May 29 portions of the Antelope Valley Freeway, the SR-14, from the Golden State Freeway, the I-5, to Sand Canyon Road will be closed as part of a pavement rehabilitation project.
Northbound SR-14
- 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Up to three lanes between I-5 Freeway & Sand Canyon Rd.
- 6 p.m. to 3 p.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway & Sand Canyon Rd.
Southbound SR-14
- 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to three lanes between Sand Canyon Rd & I-5 Freeway
- 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sand Canyon Rd & Sierra Highway
From Friday May 26 to Saturday, May 30 the following closures will be in effect.
Northbound SR-14
- 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Up to three lanes between I-5 Freeway & Sand Canyon Rd.
- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway & Sand Canyon Rd.
Southbound SR-14
- 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Up to three lanes between Sand Canyon Rd & I-5 Freeway
- 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sand Canyon Rd & Sierra Highway
In addition to closures on the SR-14, all lanes from Balboa Boulevard to the SR-14 will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., the southbound I-5 truck route collector will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the westbound I-210 truck route collector will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. and the westbound I-210 connector to the northboung I-5 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Tuesday, May 26 to Saturday, May 30.
Caltrans advises that detours will be posted and new pavement will improve mobility and enhance safety for motorists.
J McLoughlin Engineering Co. is the contractor on this $6 million project which is expected to complete in the summer of 2016.
