The survey helps determine if the county can seek a federal declaration for assistance, helping the county quickly and efficiently deal with storm damages.

Los Angeles County Department of Public Works trucks rolled up and down Iron Canyon Road all day Tuesday, as workers hustled to complete around-the-clock storm abatement efforts.

The trucks have been pulling debris and other potential fuels for mudslides and helping to prevent future land and mudslides in the area.

The Los Angeles County’s Damage Assessment Survey is an opportunity for residents impacted by the recent storm to report damages to their homes, properties and businesses.

“It’s important for residents and business owners to become familiar with the process used by the Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office, Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to collect damage estimates caused by the recent storm” stated Leslie Luke, OEM Deputy Director. “This information will be used to determine if the County has enough damages to seek a Federal declaration for assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration.”

To complete the online damage assessment survey, residents and business owners can visit and click on the banner for Damage Assessment Survey. Residents and business owners can also call 211 LA County by dialing 2-1-1 to complete the survey and get information and referrals for assistance.

Los Angeles County residents, renters, and business owners, including persons with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, may call 211 LA County at any time for emergency preparedness information, and other referral services. The toll-free 2-1-1 number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. 211 LA County services can also be accessed online.
