The Elks & Rotary club’s Night at the Races fundraiser for veterans drew a crowd of about 80 people on Saturday night.

The event, which ran from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., featured horse racing videos, cocktails, dinner, plus an auction and raffle.
“It was great,” said Janet Austin, one of the event coordinators. “Everyone had a great time and everyone was betting on horses it was really fun.”
Chris and Chrissy Vall won the two biggest ticket items including a complete orthodontic package for one person worth $4,800 and a Palm Desert resort weekend at Avondale Resort worth $650 from Pat Modugno Estates. Janet Austin won the big screen television.
“The food was from rattlers and they did a great job and everyone that participated i think enjoyed themselves,” said Austin.
The event was sponsored by KHTS AM-1220 and proceeds benefited the Harry Bell Memorial Fund for Veterans.
