The Boston Bruins announced the signing of Kevan Miller, 28, of Santa Clarita, to a four-year contract this week worth $10 million, officials announced Tuesday.

Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made the announcement, that the 6’2”, 210-pound Santa Clarita native had signed on as a defenseman through the 2019-20 season. Miller will make $2.5 million for each the four seasons.
In his third season with Boston, Miller competed in a career-high 71 games and also established career highs in goals with five, assists with 13, points at 18 and penalty minutes at 53, according to a press release from the Boston Bruins.
He posted the second-best plus/minus rating on the team, rating +15 for the season. Miller played in his 100th NHL game on November 5, 2015 at Washington.
In total, Miller has played in 159 games at the NHL level, all with Boston, playing 106 penalty minutes.
He has appeared in 11 postseason contests with the Bruins and registered two assists.

He also played four seasons of college hockey at the University of Vermont from 2007-2011, serving as the team’s captain in 2010-11 and co-captain in 2009-10.
He was originally signed by the Bruins as a free agent on Oct. 21, 2011.
