Dozens of residents lined up to get their copy of “The Inspirational Parent” signed by the author himself, who also spoke, along with members of his family. Urbina also shook hands and posed for pictures with supporters.
“It was an amazing feeling,” he said Tuesday. “I believe one of the greatest gifts you can give to another is to rally around them, and their life’s purpose. It’s a statement to that.”

“It’s a very unselfish act to give up an hour or two of your time to celebrate someone else’s accomplishments,” he added. “I want to thank everyone for their love and support.”
Many guest speakers made appearances to advocate for the “conscious parenting” movement, and to support Urbina’s new book.
Roma Khetarpal, advocate for personal growth and author of the “Perfect Parent,” spoke about the conscious parenting style and how the movement aims to transform how children are raised.
Khetarpal quoted renowned author and international speaker Miriam Williamson in her speech:
“There is no single factor more radical in its potential to heal the world then the transformation of how we raise our children,” Khetarpal said. “If we don’t commit to this type of transformation our children end up on repeat… on autopilot. This is (the) type of parenting where we recognize our children as an equal, and when we commit to conscious parenting then we truly have hope for our children,… for them to contribute to their own families, to society around them.”
Kristin Cruz, radio personality and blogger, also congratulated Urbina and thanked him for opening her eyes to understanding children and the conscious parenting style.
“Today, I just straight up said, ‘Tell me what to say — I will literally just cut and paste your parenting information,’” Cruz said. “And the funniest thing, he said, ‘You actually need to say nothing… say nothing at all, just be silent and listen.’ That was my lesson today from Alex to me.”
Kathy Hunter, director of student services at William S. Hart Union High School District, commented on how conscious parenting and parenting with intention makes a difference for educators working with children.
“It makes a huge difference,” Hunter said. “Conscious parenting to me basically means that you have forethought and you make intentional decisions about everything you do in interacting and raising your children. Don’t talk, be silent listen and then use your wisdom to coach your children.”
Urbina’s own children also took a moment to congratulate their father and express how proud they are of his book release.
Urbina and his daughter, Jazmine, co-host “The Inspirational Parent Radio Show” on KHTS AM-1220 every Friday at noon. Together, the father-daughter duo tackles tough family and teen issues in a open radio show platform to assist families in the community.
“The Inspirational Parent” made the “Amazon Best Sellers — New Releases” after the Aug. 8 release date.
The book was written to help parents realize the amazing tools they already possess within themselves, according to the book’s synopsis.
