A medical examiner identified John Gasparyan, a Los Angeles Police Department officer from Santa Clarita Valley, as the deceased in a fatal crash last night.

Gasparyan, 34, of Canyon Country, died in a motorcycle crash while off-duty last Thursday night.
The fatal collision occurred at 6:50 p.m. at Tampa Avenue, near Chatsworth, in the Porter Ranch area.
LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck sent out the following statement via social media Thursday:
“Tonight will be tough-We tragically lost a @LAPDVTD Officer to an off duty traffic collision. Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers”
Friends of Gasparyan also posted on Facebook memories and thoughts in his honor.
