Santa Clarita Officials Hosting Free Art And Social Media Event

Santa Clarita city officials are hosting a free art and social networking panel discussion for artists on Nov. 12 called “Getting Social.”

Social media is changing the way artists connect to their fans and new audiences,” according to event officials. “If you want to learn more about how you can use social media to increase your visibility and raise awareness about your work, don’t miss the “Getting Social: Art and Social Networking” panel discussion.”

The event is posed to begin at 7 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main Street, according to a news release. 

The social media focused discussion will feature a panel of experts who will review what they feel are the best social media tools for artists, share tips, and discuss concepts when branching out into the social media world.

Social media panelists for the November 12 workshop include: Kelly Hargraves, marketing and media relations manager for REDCAT, Chris Reynolds, director of marketing for GYST-Ink, and Mitra Cline, artist and marketing director for WAV Artist Council and art director for Ampersand Community Newspapers, according to a news release about the event.

“The city of Santa Clarita City Council and Arts Commission are proud to present the New Heights series, a unique opportunity for artists, performers, and arts organization representatives to expand their knowledge and learn valuable tools to increase opportunities for success,” said officials from the event.

The series is comprised of workshops, panel discussions, and art trips that engage creative individuals, no matter their level of experience, according to a news release.

About the Santa Clarita Arts Commission: 

The five-member Arts Commission meets on the second Thursday of the month, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1st floor of City Hall, 23920 Valencia Blvd., Santa Clarita, CA. (view map). Members of the public wishing to address the commission regarding an agenda or study session item may do so by completing a speaker’s slip upon arrival at the meeting.
