Santa Clarita Public Library Welcomes New City Librarian

Kelly Behle was recently named the Santa Clarita Public Library City Librarian, replacing Ed Kieczykowski who retired in May.

Behle brings eight years of experience as a librarian to the Santa Clarita Public Library.

Prior to being named City Librarian, Behle worked as a Youth Services Librarian at the County of Los Angeles Newhall branch and at the County’s Castaic Library branch. Following the formation of the Santa Clarita Public Library, Behle was hired as the Children’s Services Coordinator in 2011, and the Valencia Library Branch Manager in 2014.

Behle holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development from California State University, Northridge.

“The Santa Clarita Public Library branches are some of the most well-utilized in the region, with tremendous resources and staffing,” said City Librarian Kelly Behle. “I am looking forward to working with our excellent team and helping take the Santa Clarita Public Library to the next level of excellence in library practices,” she added.
