Santa Clarita Public Safety Committee To Discuss Doorbell Rebate Program

The City of Santa Clarita Public Safety Committee will hold a meeting Monday to discuss a possible doorbell rebate program.

The Ring doorbell is being considered by the city to offer a $100 subsidy for 500 Santa Clarita households, according to city officials.

The subsidy will allow residents to purchase a Ring doorbell or a Ring camera on a first-come-first-served basis.

A meeting will be held on May 7, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Orchard Conference room located in City Hall at 23920 Valencia Boulevard to discuss the possibility of the subsidy.

  1. Would like to get involved in the Public Safety Committee to discuss Doorbell Rebate Program

Instead of a Subsidy, that will cost Santa Clarita $50,000, ($100 x 500 residents), maybe the city can work with Ring to offer SCV residents the ability to purchase the products thru a special link or discount code directly from Ring. Typically these deals can be had for 40 to 50% discounts from retail. This will save SCV the processing of these claims and more than 500 residents can benefit. Additionally, the other security products can be purchase to enhance security. I would be happy to volunteer my time and talents to setup this deal if the City of Santa Clarita does not have someone already to do this.
