Alta Realty, headed by Santa Clarita realtor Richard Szerman, is a new group to the Santa Clarita Valley offering alternative programs to give back to the community with grants from the company.

“We are constantly coming into bad situations, and turning them right,” Szerman explains. “That’s what we do.”

Alta Realty has many programs, including: foreclosure defense, mortgage defense, loan modifications for free, rental rebate and resale renovation program.

The rental rebate programs involves Alta giving renters money to buy a house, helping first-time buyers “bridge the gap” when buying properties. The resale renovation program offers the opportunity to help sell a client’s house.

“As realtors we know that houses in the best shape sell the fastest for the best money,” Szerman advises.

The resale renovation program allows Alta to give the clients grants to “fix up” the house they are trying to sell.

Alta recently came to a house in Canyon Country which was on the market for $500,000, and after investing about $4,000 for renovations, they were able to upsell it for $530,000 — a $30,000 windfall for the seller, which Szerman noted cost nothing for the clients.

“I’ve been very fortunate,” Szerman says. “This is just our way of trying to give back.”

Alta understands that there is a tremendous amount of money involved in real estate transactions, and they prefer to use that money toward the benefit of the client rather than the agent or company.
