“Key and Peele was one of the most fun and most difficult shows you could possibly work on,” Raskin said.

A limited budget and huge ideas led to a new adventure everyday, he said.

Writers on the show wrote 300-400 sketches a year, from those they would choose 65-80 sketches to use and actually shoot.

“Everyday was something new, you never knew what they were going to walk out of the trailer looking like,” said Raskin. “You never knew what was going to happen on any given day, and it was always so much fun.”

“Key and Peele” ran for five seasons, over the course of four years.

“They had a couple sketches that they would try to bring up every season that I had to kill,” said Raskin, “which is tough because you want to support them.”

Raskin says he recalls two skits that had to be cut, a music video about aliens and one skit where they would need an actual whale. One of his favorite sketches was a “Les Mis” skit they shot in the middle of the night. Watch it here.

Most of the crew still work together on the show “Teachers on TV Land,” said Raskin.

“It’s such an amazing team of people that we got together on that show, that we all try to work together whenever we can,” Raskin said.

Raskin says they didn’t know the level of the show’s popularity until season three.

“It was more viral than any other show that I’ve ever worked on because they were able to break it up and put it on Youtube,” said Raskin.

The 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, Sept.18, 2016, at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, and will be broadcast in the U.S. by ABC, according to officials with the ceremony. The ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun to get back together with everybody and see everybody again, and have a good time celebrating,” said Raskin. “It couldn’t happen to a better group of people, such a talented team of writers, such talented actors, it’s great to see.”
