Santa Clarita High School Playoff Basketball

Tuesday’s boys playoff basketball results:

1 Rolling Hills Prep 57

7 Santa Clarita Christian 42

Top-ranked Rolling Hills proved too formidable inside, dominating on the glass and cruising in the second half to a 57-42 win over SCCS. The Cardinals finish the season 16-5, and sophomore Justin Collins returns next year as one of the top juniors in Santa Clarita.

Tuesday’s girls soccer Second Round results:

Hart 1 (Final/OT)

Senior captain Taylor Scott is the hero for a second straight playoff game, scoring in the 96th minute off a corner kick from Taylor Moorehead as the Indians advance to the Quarterfinals for an incredible fourth season in a row. They’ll travel to 2-seeded (and undefeated) Aliso Niguel on Friday.

Wildcats best season in program history comes to an end at 12-5-6.

Valencia 1

10 Newbury Park 3

Vikings avoided the shutout with a late goal, but their road ends in Newbury Park at 13-10-2.

COC Athletics

Both the Cougars baseball and softball teams are on the field at home today.

Canyons Baseball hosts Cerritos (rescheduled due to rain out) and Canyons Softball welcomes Southwestern. First pitch for both games are at 2 pm.

Los Angeles Lakers

The first transaction of the Magic Johnson Era as the head of the Lakers came down Tuesday evening in the form of a trade.

Los Angeles sent scoring guard Lou Williams to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Corey Brewer and a 2017 first round draft pick.
