Russell Guides TMU To 15th Straight Win – Santa Clarita Sports Report – January 8, 2017

The Master’s University Basketball

Men’s Basketball: The Mustangs are 2-0 in Golden State Athletic Conference play and 16-1 overall after home wins over Menlo and William Jessup. They are fifth in the NAIA Coaches top-25 and are riding a 15-game winning streak. Next up is Arizona Christian (Thursday) and San Diego Christian (Saturday).

Women’s Basketball: TMU split their conference games, dropping the opener to Menlo but knocked off William Jessup to stay seven games over .500 at 10-3. They’ll go on the road to Arizona Christian Thursday with the men’s team.

Talia Taufaasau and Rachel Bowers bounced back from last Thursday’s loss to Ribet Academy to combine for 42 of the Cowboys’ 55 points.

Santa Clarita High School Girls Soccer

Thousand Oaks: 2

Saugus (7-3-1): 1

Shaina Berdin scored in the first half for Saugus, but TO picked up a late winner to snap the Centurions’ 7-match unbeaten streak.

COC Women’s Basketball

The Cougars went 1-1 in the Ventura/Oxnard Crossover this past weekend to finish the non-conference portion of their schedule at 9-10.

COC got blown out by Ventura, 81-48 and then did then crushed Oxnard 99-52.

Next up for Canyons is the WSC conference opener on the road at LA Pierce on Saturday (1/20).
