Santa Clarita residents are invited on Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m. to attend the official ribbon cutting event for the Old Town Newhall Parking Structure, located on 9th Street between Railroad Avenue and Main Street.
Community members can expect to get a first look at the new parking structure, which will provide highly anticipated parking in the area.
Guests who attend the event will be able to join in on the short ceremony planned to be held at the entrance to the structure, followed by a speaking program on the rooftop, giving guests a never before seen view of the Santa Clarita Valley.
As part of the Santa Clarita 2020 plan under the theme “Enhancing Economic Vitality,” the City of Santa Clarita constructed the new parking structure on the Redevelopment Block in Old Town Newhall.
The structure is one of three projects on the Redevelopment Block, expected to add approximately 370 parking spots to the Old Town Newhall shopping area.
The new structure will also include the Newhall Crossings residential and retail space and a new Laemmle Theatre, both scheduled to open in 2019.
