Santa Clarita city officials are planning to host a second public workshop to discuss the Master Development Plan for the proposed Canyon Country Community Center.

The workshop is expected to be held Wednesday, July 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the Community Room at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road.

No RSVP is needed to attend.

A public engagement process completed in the spring of 2015 generated a conceptual floor plan for the proposed 20,000 square feet community center facility which will be located on a recently purchased 6.5 acre site at Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway.

Following a successful first public workshop, the project architects are returning to present a draft concept plan based on feedback received to date.  The goal of the workshop is to collect any additional thoughts and ideas from members of the public for the exterior improvements that will surround the new community center facility.

“Community centers serve a vital role in creating a safe environment for residents to learn and unleash their creativity,” said Mayor Marsha McLean.  “This public workshop is a wonderful opportunity to provide input on the proposed plans that will include a new, larger Community Center for Canyon Country and so much more,” she added.
