For the 11th year in a row, the Santa Clarita Valley Boy Scouts of America the will hold a Leaders of Character Honoree Reconnect event at Valencia Acura.

The Thursday dinner, which is being held in conjunction with an Eagle Scout Alumni Association mixer, is a precursor to an October Leaders of Character event hosted at the SCVi Charter School’s Shakespeare Theater.
“The purpose is to recognize those individuals in business, industry and government, who have exemplified the Scout Oath and Law in their daily business and personal practices,” according to a news release by the Boy Scouts of America.
The honorees for 2016 include:
- James Backer of JSB Development
- Janice France-Pettit and Oscar Dominguez of Union Bank
- Councilmember Marsha McLean
Dominguez, the vice president of Union Bank in Santa Clarita, said that he was “humbled” at being honored.
“On behalf of of union bank, we are honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Dominguez. we take a lot of pride in supporting our community. We support our community in many different facets and are excited to be recognized for our contribution.”
The Boy Scouts of the Santa Clarita Valley will celebrate these honorees officially at the 11th annual Leaders of Character Dinner on October 8 at 6:30 p.m.
