Santa Clarita Valley Fourth Of July Events For The Whole Family

What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than attend the numerous, family-fun events in the Santa Clarita Valley?

From the Fourth of July Parade to fireworks at the Valencia Town Center and Six Flags Magic Mountain, there are a variety of events to choose from.

To start off the day, city of Santa Clarita and Santa Clarita Runners’ Club officials will host the Independence Day 5K & 10K. This run is designed for the whole family and takes participants through the “Santa Clarita: Living the American Dream” Fourth of July Parade and the South Fork Trail.

The 10K begins at 7 a.m., the Kid K begins at 7:45 a.m. and the 5K begins at 8 a.m at Newhall Park at 24933 Newhall Avenue.

Awards for first, second and third place are given to a male and female winner in each age group.  All Kids K participants will receive a finisher medal.

Following the Independence Day 5K & 10K, bring the whole family to the “Santa Clarita: Living the American Dream” Fourth of July Parade where you can see dozens of floats from a variety businesses and organizations across the Santa Clarita Valley.

KHTS AM-1220 co-owner Carl Goldman will be driving the antique 1948 Mack Fire Truck in the parade and radio DJ T-Katz will be one the announcers at the parade.

The parade will include horses, floats, music, classic cars and military presentations.

The parade will down Main Street, Lyons Avenue and Orchard Village Road before the finish at 16th Street.

Later that night, two fireworks shows are expected to light up the Santa Clarita Valley sky.

The city of Santa Clarita Fourth of July Fireworks Show will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

KHTS AM-1220 radio DJ’s will present a simulcast to go along with the fireworks show.  Be sure to tune in to AM-1220 on your radio or download the KHTS AM-1220 app to listen during the show.

Lastly, Six Flags Magic Mountain officials transform the park into a three-day “All-American” weekend of patriotic festivities, highlighted by a dazzling pyrotechnics and laser show set to patriotic music each night during the Coca-Cola July 4th Fest.

On July 3rd, 4th and 5th, Six Flags Magic Mountain will celebrate America’s birthday with a musical salute featuring bands in the Park throughout the day capped off each evening with a dazzling star-spangled nighttime pyrotechnics and laser show.

The show can be viewed from the Main Gate Plaza area and the Full Throttle Zone.

On Saturday, July 4th, the whole family can enjoy a traditional picnic between 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Grande Oak Picnic Pavilion. The picnic menu includes fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, fruit and ice cream.  For more information on the July 4th picnic, visit the website.

To honor our military (active and veterans) and their families, Six Flags Magic Mountain offers a $20 discount on every general admission ticket purchased.  Up to four tickets may bepurchased with a valid U.S. military ID.  This offer is good at the Six Flags Magic Mountain ticket booths and is available any operating day.  Military discounts are also available on Hurricane Harbor general admission tickets ($8 off).

Any guest who brings a Coke can along with paid admission or a valid season pass, during the three day holiday weekend will be admitted one hour early for exclusive ride time on some of the park’s most popular rides.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th. The theme park is open 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on July 3rd and 5th.
