“Last week, a grand theft was reported on the 25100 block of Steinbeck Avenue in Stevenson Ranch,” said Deputy Duxbury. “An unknown person entered the victim’s home and stole two tennis bracelets, a silver bracelet and a set of diamond earrings.”
The total loss was estimated to be worth $9,100.00, said Duxbury.

The victim rents a room and is not sure who was in the location at the time of the incident other than the other roommates, officials said.
Sheriff’s Station officials recommends that anybody renting a room from someone or renting one out should take precautions regarding their property and personal safety.
“If you are renting a room in a home that has multiple occupants which will be in the home, or have guests over that you do not know, it’s a good idea to have a lock on your room to prevent people from entering your personal space when you are not home,” said Duxbury.
Additionally, property owners and renters are encouraged to invest in a small safe to secure money, jewelry and other high valued items.
Anybody who believes they are victim of theft is encouraged to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-298-1220.
