Santa Clarita weather is expected to reach temperatures near 110 degrees over the next few days, and officials are warning about dangerous fire conditions through much of the Santa Clarita Valley.

“An excessive heat warning has been issued starting (Monday) at 10 a.m. and lasting through Thursday evening,” said Tom Fisher, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Through the end of the week, temperatures are forecasted to see highs between 104 and 107 degrees and night time lows in the mid 70s, Fisher said.
Along with the extreme heat, winds out of the north are predicted to peak around 20 mph, especially overnight. Humidity levels are expected to plunge down to 20 percent.

All of these conditions are indicators for potential brush fires, but officials have not declared a Red Flag Warning for “critical weather” in the area.
“The National Weather Service has not issued a Red Flag Warning for Santa Clarita, but there is an elevated fire risk for the Santa Clarita Valley,” Fisher said.
Santa Clarita Valley residents planning on heading west to cool off near the ocean should also be cautious, due to an elevated chance for high riptides for all Los Angeles and Ventura County beaches, especially south-facing beaches, according to Fisher.
“Seas are expecting to see 4- to 7-foot swells with max swells of 8 feet, which will greatly elevate the chance of strong rip currents,” Fisher said.
