To bring the sport to Saugus High School, the program will need to raise approximately $25,000.
The Santa Clarita Valley currently has three lacrosse teams. An additional team will allow the sport to become a league sport in Santa Clarita.
Building the program will provide more opportunity for kids to participate in high school sports, chairperson for SHSLF Brian Serazio said.
The number of youth playing lacrosse in the valley is expected to increase in the coming years.
“Lacrosse is a growing sport in the Santa Clarita Valley,” Serazio said. “We currently have 160 boys and girls ranging in age from 9-15 playing in various programs in our valley.”
