Lean Aguilar, 16, was reported missing around 6:20 p.m., according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

“There’s no update, yet,” said the boy’s mother, Janet Aguilar, on Monday evening.

He was last seen around 8 a.m. Monday, and was not seen at school today, his family learned.

He reportedly did not have his cellphone with him, according to a friend who was helping with the search effort in Saugus on Monday night well after 9 p.m.

He’s a student at Saugus High and a member of the school’s cross country team.

When Aguilar never returned home at the usual time after practice, his parents became alarmed, according to a Facebook post that was shared by a friend.

Friends and family were searching the neighborhood around where he reportedly was seen last, on Pamplico, near Ron Ridge.

Anyone who knows Lean Aguilar’s whereabouts is asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
