You could do that massive pile of laundry that has been gathering on your floor for the last two weeks, or you could blow it all off and go play with your kids. Interested in the latter?
Here are my top 5 picks for Family Fun in Santa Clarita this weekend:
Mary Poppins the Musical
Just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down, and it makes pretty much everything else taste good too.
Take the family to see the joyous musical Mary Poppins at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at the College of the Canyons for some air-conditioned live entertainment. It’s running Saturdays and Sundays now through August 16th and you can find tickets and info on their website.
Its family fun with a sweet message, plus some delicious singing and tasty dancing, too.
Youth Safety Fair
Your kids listen to you, kinda, right? Sometimes it’s helpful to have another voice giving them safety tips, and the Old Town Newhall Library is adding in the “teenager cool factor” for an added bonus at their Youth Safety Fair.
It’s Saturday, August 1st from 1-3pm at the Library and the free event will feature local teens giving the scoop on safety topics through skits, games and prizes. Get all of the details here.
Not a bad idea, since sometimes when we are giving advice to our kids we sound like the teachers in Charlie Brown.

Scott Martin Latin Soul Band
Concerts in the Park are always a great event for families, and this week you can get your Latin Soul on with Scott Martin.
The concert takes place in Central Park starting at 7 pm, and this week features an incredible Latin Jazz lineup with The Latin Soul Band. Make sure to bring a picnic blanket or chairs, food or cash for the trucks, and your ability to bust a move.
Your whole family will love it, whether that move gets busted or not.
