Don’t get June Gloomy this weekend, get out and do something Gloom Free!
Here are my top 5 picks for family fun in Santa Clarita this weekend:
Polar Plunge at Hurricane Harbor
Get ready to take the plunge…into the wave pool that is.
The Polar Plunge is coming up on Saturday, June 6th from 8 am to 10:30am at Hurricane Harbor and not only is it fun, it also is a great way to fund raise for Special Olympics Santa Clarita & Tri Valley.
There is a minimum donation of $50, so start fundraising now to make sure you don’t miss the splashiest party in town. Check out their website or call 253.2121 for details.
It’s supposed to be in the 80’s this weekend, so take advantage of the warmest weather possible for a Polar Plunge.
West Side Story Canyon Theatre Guild
If you haven’t seen West Side Story, the updated musical version of Romeo and Juliet, I can only slowly shake my head at you. Slowly.
This classic musical is something every family should see (make it more of a PG outing, little kids won’t appreciate it) and you will love the version presenting at CTG now through June 28th. Call 799-2702 for details and tickets.
Go see this gorgeous love story and avoid the head shaking.

Elks Lodge Annual Car Show and Chili Cook-Off
Chili? Car Show? Free Family Fun? I have your attention now, right?
This Saturday, June 6th, join up at the Elks Lodge Annual Car Show and Chili Cook-Off from 11am to 4pm. It’s at Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379 and features all sorts of fun beyond cars and chili, including kids activities and live music. Call 310-4423 if you have questions.
I would visit the Car Show first, because you don’t really want to be checking out small spaces with strangers after enjoying the Chili…I’m just saying.
Find Out More Santa Clarita Top Things To DoBeach Bus
You want to go to the beach, your kids want to go to the beach, but nobody wants to take that drive. So bring a book and take the Beach Bus instead!
The City of Santa Clarita is offering rides to Santa Monica on the Beach Bus on Saturdays and Sundays starting this weekend and going through September 6th. It’s only $3 each way for kids and adults, $1.50 for Seniors and persons with disabilities. Visit their website for schedule information.
All the beach fun without having to make a rude gesture at anyone. Good times.
Sidewalk CPR Day
You know you should know CPR. You know your older kids should know CPR. But have you done it? The Los Angeles Fire Department is helping you cross that one off of your list with Sidewalk CPR Day.
They are offering free 10 min training in CPR for free at multiple areas around LA this Thursday, June 4th. Santa Clarita spots include The Westfield Valencia Town Center, and the Canyon Country Costco from 10am to 3pm with a lunch break from noon to 1pm.
Do that thing you should do, because you know you should do it. Know what I mean?
