“(Malnutrition) is a worldwide problem obviously, but surprisingly here in the United States it affects so many– mostly children,” said Bob Garite of Yevo Food. “Basically they’re eating the wrong foods. There are some poverty areas that are just not getting food, and the type of foods that they eat are not nutritious foods.”

Malnutrition is not only caused by a lack of food, but also by the presence of an unbalanced diet that’s missing or insufficient in nutrients.SCV Health Food Company Reps Discuss Malnutrition In U.S.

As many as 17 million children in the U.S. are currently at risk of becoming malnourished, with the majority of children affected due to dietary imbalances rather than nutritional deficiencies, according to Yevo Food officials.

Melissa White of Yevo Food associates poor nutrition with a variety of common health problems in both children and adults, including obesity, digestion problems and ailments like painful joints.

“On a regular basis our society does not get the 43 essential nutrients, so that’s why we’re having a lot of health issues,” she said.

A recent UCLA study has even shown a direct correlation between proper nutrition and the reversal of Alzheimer’s disease, Garite added.

“People that have grown up in society eating fast food and so forth are not getting the nutrients, so their bodies are not rebuilding cells,” Garite said of the study. “When they do get on a regimen of eating the proper nutrients, they’re actually reversing the Alzheimer’s disease.”

One way Santa Clarita residents can ensure their own bodies, as well as their families’, are getting the proper amount of nutrients is to eat two natural, convenient meals from Yevo Food per day.

Yevo Food offers a variety of flavorful, nutrient-rich foods that are never genetically modified like most grocery store box foods, and can be prepared in as little as three minutes, according to company officials.

“We’re able to pack 43 nutrients into these meals, and that is done through this new technology with the dehydration of food,” Garite said.

In order to retain these vital nutrients in Yevo Food meals, the water is first removed from non-genetically modified foods and then packaged as part of an organic meal. The process allows consumers to simply add water during meal preparation, which typically takes only three to four minutes.

A selection of Yevo Food meals are currently available during the company’s pre-launch stage, with the official launch slated for Feb. 1.
