The SCV Pregnancy Center is celebrating its 31st anniversary in its new clinic this month.

Over the years, the center has been renting spaces in a variety of locations, but the organization now has its own building.
“By owning this new building we avoid extra costs of rent, which allows more funds to help clients,” said organization officials.
The center primarily offers free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, but they also provide STD testing, resources and referrals, according to Angela Bennett, president/CEO of the SCV Pregnancy Center.
But although the center currently has a permanent location, they are not yet debt-free.
The SCV Pregnancy Center received over $1 million in donations, but still needs $300,000 to be able to pay off their debt on the new building.
“Thirty-one years may not be a typical milestone anniversary,” said officials. “An additional ‘1’ may not seem like much, but a ‘1’ can represent significant accomplishments: each year counts, each client matters and each dollar is appreciated.”
The center has held several fundraisers to pay off their building and offer programs to those in need, including its most recent fundraiser in September.
With the recent Walk for Life event, the organization was able to gather more than $77,000, according to the event’s fundraising website.
“We’ve seen remarkable donations that can provide for over 300 counseling and medical appointments,” said officials. “Now let’s pay off this building so that clients can always have a place to come and benefit from these appointments.”
